social habits (popular, loner, some close friends, makes friends and then quickly drops them): laura lee has a tendency toward introverted behaviors, but her closest friends are the team, and she clings to them like sisters. she doesn’t know and isn’t close to hardly anyone outside of the team, which makes it hard when they shut her out and don’t tell her anything, because she’s lonely. + more here.
how do they treat others (politely, rudely, keep at distance, etc)?: she’s very polite and kind, though she may seem sort of anxious and quiet when you first meet her, once you get closer to her, however, she gets a little less anxious, though i imagine she still has an air of mysteriousness about her, because she only ever talks about the good parts of her life, or rarely talks about it at all, saving her sins and most things about herself for confession and prayer.

what they most want to change about their current life?: she often wishes she could be braver, and she also grieves for her grandfather greatly and misses him. she also wishes that her parents didn’t have to work so hard and that they could just relax.
likes & dislikes.
hobbies: in addition to playing soccer and her after-school bible study, laura lee also has piano lessons. she plays well, though sometimes she gets anxious and second guesses herself. sometimes she'll stay late during bible study to practice on the church piano, as her parents hope she'll play during mass some day when she gets older. when she's not at soccer practice for her high school team (the yellowjackets) or school, you can find her volunteering at a soup kitchen or at bible study, but other than that she stays home often to take care of her younger sisters or her tired parents and grandmother that lives with them.
interests: catholicism, soccer, sewing, baking but like.. not the fancy stuff just like :) lil homey tarts and pies, old books, piano, handiness/mechanics which her grandfather taught her about.
indoors or outdoors?: outdoors. the lane house backs the woods, and laura lee grew up playing in it and enjoys being outside a fair bit. there are various marks of her childhood lying in those woods, ranging from playhouses to leftover toys buried in mud. once leah anne was born, laura lee stopped playing as much and began taking care of her younger sisters instead.

favorite and least favorite food: she likes simple foods in general, anything with a lot of spice is something that she dislikes, though she’s not a very picky eater and will try to eat everything she is given because that’s how she was raised.

how do they feel about traveling?: laura lee’s never really traveled anywhere before, though she wants to take a pilgrimage one day, her family’s just never been able to afford it before. nationals is the first time she’s ever been on a plane through an airline- though she has flown with her grandfather before in his plane -or gone anywhere that was that far away.
what sort of gifts do they like?: really anything, she’s very sentimental and will appreciate anything beyond belief, especially since she doesn’t have much. i think she loves little earrings though, just little things in general to make her think of the gift giver.

thoughts on drugs and alcohol: her parents try to keep certain 'unpure' things out of her life. music, movies, and shows that were deemed something that god wouldn't have approved of were banned from the household. though, laura lee finds ways around some of their rules through the yellowjackets. she’s only drank alcohol at church when it’s blessed to be jesus’ blood, and she smoked one of her friend’s cigarettes only once before she decided she hated it. because of her love for her friends, she doesn’t judge them too harshly, though she does worry for their souls and their bodies.

most important/defining event in life to date: laura lee had always been catholic, having been taught since birth by her parents. but her faith was heightened even after she survived hitting her head on the bottom of the pool of mary magdalene summer camp when she was 13. laura lee’s grandfather’s death also played a huge role in her life, it was the first time someone close to her had died and he had almost been like a second father to her.
daily routine: she starts early in the morning to take care of her siblings and make sure they get up for school, as well as get some chores done to make it easier on her parents before she leaves for school. she doesn’t come home until after practice that goes on for two hours after school, and then if she doesn’t have anything to do with church, she’ll do her homework and make sure her siblings have done theirs, before getting them dinner and off to bed before going to bed herself, definitely at an early time for her age.
typical saturday night: staying home and taking care of her siblings and grandmother or out volunteering. on the rare occasion of her not being busy, she can be persuaded to go out with her friends, but she’s incredibly cautious the entire time.
what is home like (messy, neat, sparse): as neat as a house with a bunch of kids can be, but laura lee tries her best to keep it neat.

default body language: generally taut, anxious, fearful and shy. definitely a different story when around her friends, though she’s still anxious and a little on edge, but most of it, then, is worrying about them more than her usual pile of anxieties and nervousness. it’s not necessarily closed off in a guard-y way though? however, she is prone to reaching out and comforting others whenever she sees it.

presence: gentle and warm, pure as well, generally pretty sound i think. sound as in she will stay and she genuinely wants to be where she is and isn’t going to leave or is too much in her own head. attentive, i guess, is the right word. she sometimes gets wrapped up in her worries, but she’s pretty good at staying present. i think she has a naturally peaceful and calming sort of presence, like everything's going to be okay when you see her.
appearance: clean and tidy, though she thinks she looks plain after being told so for so many years by others. her general insecurities with the way she looks assists in the way she presents herself, but also the ideals that traditionally come with the culture of her faith, like modest clothing and little embellishment.

VERSES.

pre-plane crash. (you could call this arc 1) laura lee is a high school student at wiskayok high school in new jersey, playing for their soccer team as #2. laura lee devotes much of her time to god, requesting a prayer before they play, even at the most low-risk game.wilderness. (you could call this arc 2) the private plane, paid for by the matthews, that the yellowjackets had taken to nations crashed in the middle of the canadian wilderness, leaving the girls to fend for themselves after their pilot and head coach died. one of their coaches survived, as well as the late coach's sons and the team assistant. but otherwise, they are lost in the woods with little food and resources. they vote to leave the site of the crash, the majority ruling to go look for the lake that taissa finds on her walk, though laura lee had voted to stay. they find a lake, then a cabin to stay in so they no longer have to sleep outside. natalie and travis learn how to shoot with a gun that they found in the cabin so they can find food and meat though the animals that they can find begin to dwindle, and laura lee aims to fly the small cessna plane that they found while out in the wilderness one day. their living coach is reluctant to let her fly, but laura lee points out that since he is missing a leg from the crash, he can't actually stop her from doing so.survival. (you could call this arc 3) the plane stops before it goes off the cliff and begins to fly, halting so quickly that laura lee gets a concussion after hitting her head on the dashboard of the plane. weeks later after trying to discover and fix the problem, the plane blows up as laura lee is working on it. while she was not in the plane at the time, she still is injured by the explosion. here's a lil wip of how laura lee is involved in the canon events of season one. probably still subject to change and formalizing, but these are the basic ideas and themes i am working with.guardian angel. instead of the plane stopping, it continues until it is flying in the air, but before laura lee can escape the woods, her teddy bear mysteriously catches fire and causes an explosion. laura lee dies when the plane explodes, and she is sent to heaven. her faith and holiness while on earth is rewarded by the gift of becoming a guardian angel, allowing her to go back on earth as a celestial being to be a guiding hand in a human's life that just needs a slight bit of help to be ushered onto the right path,modern. a modern setting version of her pre-plane crash verse.disney's descendants. tbd.gravity falls. tbd.

fear street: 1994. laura lee is a shadysider, and she does not believe in the curse due to her faith and connection with god. she plays soccer at shadyside high, where the team is shockingly good and talented even in the dim environment that they have grown up in. things are looking up for laura lee and she has hope that god will get her out of this town. she has the general pallette and attitude of a pastel, goody-two-shoes sunnyvaler, which sets her apart from her peers but that doesn't stop her from continuing to be kind and trying to make friends.fear street: 1978. similar to her 1994 verse, laura lee is a shadysider, only this time she works at the neighboring bible camp to camp nightwing, the very camp that she had hit her head at when she was 13. when the two camps are playing camps in the woods at the same time, laura lee often talks to the counselors of nightwing that are supervising. they share the woods, so when havoc wreaks on the night of the massacre, she hears and laura lee runs over to help. laura lee is killed by tommy while trying to save a shadyside camper.stranger things. laura lee attends hawkins high and is a member of the soccer team. agewise, she sits right between the party and nancy, johnathan and steve. similar to her fear street verse, she doesn't believe the stories about the lab when first told. but if shown the horrors and monsters coming from the upside-down, she would consider them demons from hell sent by satan to ruin the earth and keep god's children from heaven.the batman. the lanes live in gotham in the lower-class districts, all six children and their parents stuffed into one small apartment. laura lee knows to be cautious in the city, to say her prayers, and hold her cross if she finds herself alone. and she knows to never, never be out when it's dark. sometimes, it feels as if the lord turns a blind eye upon these dirty streets.
